I just bought some new jazz shoes and the fit is questionable?

I already have a pair of Capezio Unisex jazz shoe (size 12) and I wear a 10 size mens shoe. But recently my family went to a sports store called Acadamy and I found that they had jazz shoes (they were in a womans shoe aisle). But the brand they have are called Dance Class and they have this stretchy stuff around the arch and when I tried on size 12 they were a little too long, so I got size eleven and they fit fine because the material stretched. but now they make my toes curl a bit when i flex my foot. I do understand they're new and need broken in, but should i have gone with a bigger size?

Usually, women's' dance shoes are supposed to be the same size as your street shoe and men's are supposed to be 2 sizes larger. If they are leather, like most basic jazz shoes are, they will stretch as you wear them more. One pair i have are size 7, and my regular size is an 8. I've had them for 3 years, and they fit almost perfectly, but are a little bit too small. So your 11's might get a little bit too big, but they'll probably be okay.
