Partly 'when in Rome' seems to be important for men and women.
If men wore flowing robes, and everyone did, it would be respectful
to do this also. For women the same applies to not do things too
differently from the rest.
If I am a guest in another country, say, India, and I am an immigrant
to India and further the people where I live wear the sari, I would
wear a sari also so everyone would feel OK.
Here in Western civilization, there is so much in the way of clothing,
and more women's than men's clothing for sure, so see why the
focus is on women, just look at all the fashion shops!! The different
styles of dress are enormous.
I feel we should look clean, express our personalities with
color and style without flauting it. If a woman had big bosoms,
while she doesn't need to restrict or hide them, to flaunt them
with really low dresses can make other women feel bad, not
to mention what it can do to men, and maybe even bring
on an attack!! I think women are supposed to look nice,
and look different one from another, not like some rigid
uniform. Nuns used to go around looking like witches on a
broom, and now for several years, the groups have introduced
a lot of things to make it possible to be individual and attracted
while still being modest. I don't think we're to hide ourselves, to
make ourselves really drab, looking like some dark ghost going by.
