Choosing a leotard for your dance costume

What is the best way to clean a dance costume other than dry cleaning?

I have 20 dance costumes that I need to clean. They are one-piece costumes, with long palazzo pants, and are primarily a velvety-velour type material, with lots and lots of sequins. They were dry cleaned once before, but the sequins really took a beating and I don't think they will hold up well if they are dry cleaned again. If I hand wash them, I know they will be incredibly heavy and hold a lot of water.
Does anyone have any tips for cleaning, or at least deodorizing, the costumes? I was told to use Febreze, but I'm worried about staining or discoloration.

You can wash them in the machine in cold water and a bit of detergent. Be sure to use the gentle cycle and hang them up to dry. You could do a few per day so you don't have a big giant laundry load.
