You might also want to try the archives of the yahoo group "creativemachine". Bill Jones (I believe) did some costumes for a national tv commercial that made models look like they were peeling off about 50 layers of clothes (shirts, I think). It was actually done by making clothing in sets of three or four, sized to go over the top of each item. ABCD then D was repeated in a larger size so it fit over (D)EFG, G repeated in a larger size so it fit over (G)HIJ etc. etc. I don't remember if he described the closure system they used... I'm guessing snaps.
