Do I absolutely need white shoes for cheer tryouts?
So I'm thinking of trying out for my university's cheer team. I have more of a dance background so I own a pair of black split-sole jazz sneakers and a pair of nude leather jazz boots. I know white sneakers with white socks are usually worn at cheer tryouts but I don't want to buy a pair just for that in case I don't make the team. So with my options, would it be safer to wear the black sneakers, the nude jazz shoes, or bring both just in case? If you've tried out for cheer in the past what is more common?
For a University squad, they usually have expectations they tell you, like what you should do and what you should wear. But you come from a good point, not wanting to by white shoes just incase you dont make it.
Maybe you could get a cheap pair of white sneakers, and if you do make it, then you willl get the squads shoe. but if you dont make it, you could always wear them for recreational stuff, u know?
You should bring both nude and black shoes to tryouts if you decide not to buy the white pair of shoes:)
