Skate Lyrical Jazz

i quit skating a few years ago, but i want to start back up? advice?

i quit a few years back. i'm 13 now. I was never really that good when i did skate because i couldn't get myself to focus..maybe i was too young..? anyways, i've been dancing alot and i can really focus myself and i might want to start back up. i could never get past my lutz. i wasn't strong enough to do a very low sit spin, but i'm pretty strong now from all the dancing. (ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, and modern)
do you think it will be really difficult?
am i too old to compete again? i used to love to go to competitions, but am i too old to start at this level again?
advice?

It has to be your own decision. Try going to the rink on a public session and skate around, see if you like it again and can still do everything (I'm sure you will). Then contact your old coach and talk to him/her about it, there are compeitions for all levels and ages so there's no reason you couldn't compete again if you work at it.
One thing to consider is that if you are really into all the dancing (as you seem to be) is that skating takes up a lot of time and dedication to just that if you want to be really good and that could detract from the dancing (although that will of course help the skating!). But you can skate a bit and even be able to compete at a relatively low level.
