Mother of the Bride Dresses You May Not Have Considered

The one woman in the wedding party who has the right, obligation, and desire to look as lovely as the bride is the bride's mother. After all, she's been planning for this day even longer than her daughter has—perhaps since before the child was born! She may not have the same bridal glow that her daughter has, but she should shine with motherly pride—and that requires a dress that shines.

If formal is the fashion of the day, Mom's dress should be in the bride's primary accent color. Sapphire blue is a popular accent color and when designed in stretch taffeta—polyester, nylon, and spandex—it can be comfortable as well. What to wear with my purple halter top?

I recently bought a new shirt to wear for New Years Eve. It's a purple-coloured halter with sequins lining the neckline. The problem is, I have absolutely no idea what I pants I should wear with it. The halter itself is fitted around the chest area but loose at the bottom (flares out) and falls about 5 inches above the knees. Any ideas? (Also, I can't wear jeans with it 'cause the dress code for that evening is semi-formal). Thanks!!!!!
