Maternity Dresses - a Must Have for Every Expecting Woman

Every expecting woman needs a good dress or two in her wardrobe. During pregnancy, it sometimes seems excessive to buy a lot of nice maternity dresses that can only be worn for a few months. However, during the course of nine months of pregnancy we inevitably come upon an occasion which really calls for a dress- a wedding, an office party, an evening out with our spouse or even our own baby shower.

Many expecting women actually find that dresses are more comfortable to wear when expecting than a pant and top combo. Even women that do not typically wear dresses for their day to day activities may find that a dress is the easiest and most comfortable clothing to wear when they are pregnant. For one thing, most maternity dresses are made with plenty of room in the belly to comfortably stretch for all nine months of your pregnancy. They also provide plenty of belly coverage so there is no worry about a top getting too short as your belly expands.

Most women like not having a waistband cutting into their belly from the early weeks of nausea to the final weeks when nothing seems to stay on your hips. Pregnant women can actually get away with wearing a dress in just about any venue. How to choose the perfect mate for my betta?

i recently bought a betta a week ago and i was thinking about breeding it as a hobby. he's a royal blue crown tail with a black head and his mouth and belly is a grayish color. i was wondering which kind of female i should get that would be a good mate for my male. I'd like to try to breed a blue and red or a blue and green betta. i was also wondering about his gray mouth and belly. is this normal?

If you haven't bred Bettas before, I wouldn't start with Crowntails. We're not quite sure why, but Crowntails tend to be a lot more rough and vicious during spawning than other tail types - I had one that killed three attempts at breeding him before he came to me as a pet from the breeder, I actually got him on 6/6/06 and he was named Damien.

Anyway, if your fish was store bought, chances are he's already too told to breed successfully anyway. Store fish tend to be around a year old or more, Bettas are best bred at around 7-8 months old. If you want to breed, buy a pair from another breeder, that way you know the family history and you know what tail types and colours you're going to get.

Breeding Bettas is pretty labour intensive on your part, you need to do a lot of background reading and stocking up on equipment and many many tanks before you even get to selecting a pair! And by the time you've done all that, your current male will definitely be too old to go, once they're older their fertility drops off and they're less likely to recover from the very stressful process of spawning.

As for the genetics of breeding, if your Crowntail and the female it's spawned with has any veil tail in its near family history, you'll probably end up with a few droopy tails in the spawn. Also, the colours red and blue are dominant. And fish with redwash (red colouring on a blue body) or bluewash (visa versa) are, in show circuits, classed as faults and disqualified. Veiltails aren't permitted in show circuits any more either, they've become too mutt-bred to be recognised.
