Do girls typically wear nylons to high school dances? (i.e. prom)?

Sorry if this sounds really dumb, but I've never been to a dance, and I'm going to prom on Saturday, so any help would be greatly apprieciated.

I am a sophomore in college, so I went to prom not that long ago, and we definitely did not wear nylons. They were kind of a no-no. Most girls are going to wear opened-toe shoes and nylons just don't look right with those kind of shoes. I would say that flip-flops were accepted with long dresses before nylons were. Also, if you are worried about the temperature, it will be so hot you won't even think about your legs being cold!
