What type of stockings should I give as a V-Day present?

I'm looking for very sexy and luxurious stockings for my wife. I want to find stockings (not thigh-highs, stay-ups, otk, etc...) that feel wonderful on her legs and make her excited to wear them.

Has anyone worn real silk? Or should I stick with stretch that are around 80/20 lycra and nylon. I don't remember 100% nylon stockings being that great, and she is not a vintage girl.

I have given her Wolford tights for the past few years and want to go a bit more elegant/glamorous so garter and stockings it is. Cost is not an object.

Also, if you can recommend a practical garter belt that can be worn with a tight skirt, that would be great.

If you have input that she should go "bare" or in pantyhose, don't waste my time.
