Shake a leg at the Dubai Dance Festival
The United Arab Emirates is fast becoming a hot spot for innovative new celebrations and festivals which draw in crowds from all across the globe. Especially Dubai, the commercial and entertainment hub of the Middle East, is home to many of these festivities.
The festivals come in many shapes and sizes and take place throughout the year. A unique and interesting festival, which usually takes place during the middle of the year, in June or July, is the Dubai Dance Festival.
Happening for the fourth consecutive year, this festival has become a great hit with both young and old alike. It provides an opportunity to experience an unparalleled mix of cultural entertainment. The Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Centre plays host to the event.
The festival spans over a three day weekend and comprises a jam packed set of events with something for everyone to enjoy. Live performances include shows by students as well as professionals from some of the top dance companies in the country.
Workshops and classes take place for individuals of all ages and are in the genres of hip hop, belly dancing, African dance, tap dancing and much more. After a day time session of these activities, the nights include amazing parties where participants get to put their new found talents and skills to use. There are also after parties which go on till the events of the next day take over. Internationally acclaimed DJ's, and dance troupes hold the fort at these parties.
The three days bring together dancers, artistes, instructors and promoters from around the world who can gather to share views, opinions and make deals. Fashion too plays an important role here as one can see participants of different countries exhibit the hottest fashions of their country. A wide range of food is here for the participants to choose from.
If you are a dance enthusiast, love to move on the dance floor and have a yearning to try your skills at a new type of dance, then the Dubai Dance festival is for you.
