Fluffies Rave Leg Warmers Gators?

Hey im looking for a patern to make these fluffy leg warmers
I realise they are hard to get if you wanna make them yourself, but i thought maybe if some1 out there has made them at home they might share the pattern with me...i know you can buy them off ebay but i wanna have a crack at it myself...
Also if there is anyone who's good at sweing, any tips on this or working with faux fur would be appreciated ...Thanx

It's a pretty simple pattern.
I don't have a copy of one atm but what i did was measure around your calf (around where you want the leg warmer/bootcover to sit).

Now draw a line that length + an extra inch or 2 onto the fabric (on the reverse, smooth side, not the fluffy side).

Decide how long you wish it to be.

Go to the centre of the first line you drew and measure the length you wish down. Mark a dot at that point.
This dot marks the centre point of your calf width.
Now it's simply a matter of deciding how wide you wish the leg warmer to be and marking it in.
If you decide to make it, say for examples sake 10 inches wide, from the dot you marked, you would measure 5 inches on each side, mark dots to show where the points and then connect the dots.

Now all you do is join the top line with the bottom line by drawing a straight line between the ends.
You should get a shape that looks like a triangle with a point cut off.

Now all you do is stitch the sides together.
it's be a good idea to attach some elastic to the top of the legwarmer, where it sits on your calf. this will stop it slipping up and down.
Remember to sew it inside out (smooth side facing up) and turn it inside out when finished

Sewing/Pattern help??

Hey, I was planning on getting a set of gators or fuzzy leg warmers for an up coming dance rave nearby. The only problem is, when I went to buy them, they were costing anywhere from thirty to a hundred dollars for a good pair. Now, I don't know about you but I don't exactly have that kind of money just laying around.

So, instead, I thought I'd give making my own pair a try. The finish product needs to look something like...

that.... so if anyone can offer instructions or pattern help, that'd be amazing! I'm definately not the world's greatest sewer, and this is still a bit new to me. Any ideas or pointers would be great!

Your main problem with the illustration you provided is going to be finding the fabric. The actual legging is quite simple... just find a pattern for polarfleece socks (I'd suggest Jalie or Kwiksew as possible sources) and copy the pattern, removing the foot.

What you really need to know about is sewing with fake fur -- in something like polarfleece, legwarmers are dead easy. The fur complicates things quite a bit.

Something that would be similar, but a whole lot less trouble than attempting to source the fabric you reference, would be to make long yarn fringe of something that hangs heavy, like a quite densely, hanging from a simple strip of fabric that you'd attach above the swell of the calf muscle. Add some beads to the ends of the fringe for additional weight if you wish. Or do the same thing, but make the fringe shorter and place at the ankle. You could also do the same thing with fringed leather.
