Colors - go for whatever works with your skirts and tops. I rarely wear a hip scarf but I have a yellow one that is really old but keeps coming out whereas my pink one sits in a bag unused. It's not the color that counts but the way it moves and sounds.

Be wary of hip scarves bought off ebay. You might strike lucky or you might find all the bits fall off as soon as you try dancing. I'd much rather buy from a vendor at a hafla or event.
