What should I wear to gymnastics ?

So i'm starting my first day of gymnastics in 2 days and I already know i'm supposed 2 wear a leotard but I don't really like the leotard my mom got me. It's black velvet with little gold squiggles going down the front. Well I actually like it but i'm afraid that other people might think i look like a dork in it. The shorts she got me to go with the leotard are very high waisted like so high waisted that they cover my belly-button there also black velvet so when I put them on with the leotard it looks like i'm wearing a unitard. I have some shorts from when I used to take dance classes (I took ballet tap and jazz for 4 years) but they say dance on the back though other than that their fine. My question is what should I wear ?

Well everyone is wearing leotards and they really help if your going to be flipping because sometimes even tighter shirts fall down when your in the air. No one is going to think you look like a dork you'll look fine your leo sounds cute. and just wear other shorts no one cares if they say dance on the back or just scrunch down the tops of the shorts that do with the leo.
