Dancers almost always have certain footwear requirements, and tap dancers most certainly do!  Tap is a very specific form of dance, and tap shoes reflect this.  Different fashions and styles come and go in dance wear over the years, and even traditional performances sometimes produce new takes on time tested outfit designs.  One thing which often separates trends in dance clothes from trends in popular fashion is practicality.  Dancers still need to be able to perform to the best of their ability in new styles.

I would like to go back to dancing and I would like to know where I can get ballet slippers (points)?

Also, what shoes or slippers would be best to use to dance? I know about regular ballet slippers but I want to know about shoes or other accesories to use on my feet while dancing.

If you've never bought pointe shoes before, you need to go to a special dance store. Pointe shoes do not fit like regular shoes and different brands fit everyone differently. Find a store in your area that sells dance shoes and clothes. If they don't have what you want, they should be able to recommend someplace that can.

I can't tell you which shoes to buy because everyone is different. It is vital that you try on several brands before you pick one. Pointe is so incredibly hard on the body and good shoes are the best way to prevent injury. A dance teacher can also be a good resource. Ask your teacher where you should go and if she/he has any suggestions for the brand you buy (I was always partial to Capezio).
Pointe hurts. There is no way to get around it, but you can lessen the pain if you protect your feet. I taped the toes that blistered using athletic tape (you can get it at any drug store) and used both ouch pads and lambs wool. Ouch pads are small pads that have gel inside them. You slide your toes into them before you put on your shoes. I also used lambs wool in the bottom for a little more cushion. This is a very personal decision, so try out a lot of options and pick the best one for you.
You may also like a soft box and/or a broken shank. A soft box means you beat the hard box that surrounds your toes with a hammer until it is soft and bendable (don't beat the part you stand on though, just the sides and top). You break the shank by bending the arch of the shoe until you hear it crack. I have really high arches and I found this to give my feet the best support. Again, try it out both ways and see what you like.
