How do I clean my pedini dance shoes?

I have tan pedinis that I bought in early February. I've worn them for dance practice almost daily, and now they smell terrible! The outside surface is tan leather, and the inside has what looks like a little fabric. The bottoms are either suede or something that looks and feels very similar. I'm not really sure. I've heard of sticking jazz shoes in a pillow case and washing them. Would that work with my pedinis too? I've never had them until this year so I'm unsure of how to handle this.
Sorry. I should have specified. They just smell! The bottoms have a little dirt on them, but that makes them a little slippery so they're easier to turn in so that's not all bad. Ha. My primary issue is just the odor.

Are they like dirty like covered in dirt or whatever or do they just smell? I need more info to answer your question.
