No Money For Halloween Costumes? Get 2 Jake Sully Avatar Costumes For The Price Of One!

So how do you get 2 costumes for the price of 1? The first thing you will need is a Jake Sully Avatar Deluxe costume. There are two styles (in the boys costume it's just the deluxe)... the Deluxe and the Mens costume. The only difference between the two costumes is the tail. The deluxe comes with the tail and the other doesn't, we want the one with the tail... the Deluxe.

Let's start with the boys costume first and it really is the same for the mens costumes except for a tee shirt and less blue face paint. You will see what I mean as we go along. Now the Boys and Mens Deluxe Jake Sully Avatar costume is 3 pieces. The Blue face mask, a shirt/jacket with blue sleeves to look like Navi skin and the pants with the tail.

For the 1st costume the look we're going for here is when Jake first becomes a Navi and try's out his new body. You will need the pants with the tail, a white or kakhi tee-shirt, black wig (find one at a dollar store) blue face paint and Avatar makeup kit. You have an option here with the pants both boys and men's costume. For the full effect take and cut the pants into shorts. Then dye or paint them blue... try and get the same shade as the costume.

Next paint your arms ( and legs if you made the shorts) don't forget the stripes, then paint your neck, face, ears. Okay now this next part is up to the parents yes or no for the boys costume. Men (boys too if parents approve) what you will do now is paint your whole body blue, as the only thing you are wearing are the shorts! Going for the a la naturale look. Ladies will dig it.

It's for Neytiri but it will work for Jake as well with just some small changes. Braid the wig add some beads and your done. Costume # 2.

So now you have the shirt/jacket and the mask left over from the Jake Sully Avatar Deluxe costume. Simply find a pair of pants you want to wear, put on the jacket, mask and you're done with costume #2 and it didn't cost you a dime more!

Now to make this costume more authentic and for the kids who want to get in on the body painting fun... paint your hands and arms up high enough that the costume jacket covers your arms. Make sure you paint up far enough so your arms are not exposed when you stretch. Paint your neck as well so the mask blends in better.
