Is it possible to make a camisole into a halter top?

Like if I wanted to take a basic camisole like this:

cut off the straps, and then sew on a new strap to make it a halter.

I want to make it like her top.

And how would I go about doing it?

It could be done. Note that the top you want to duplicate has binding around the entire top edge that forms the halter.

How to: Buy a camisole that is shaped like the one you want to duplicate (I checked--some of mine are shaped like that and some have a different shape in the back). You will need stretchy binding in a contrasting color in sufficient length to bind the top edge and also make the strap that goes behind the neck. What I'd do is cut the straps about 1/2" above the top edge at the front and back. Then use the binding to bind the underarm and back edge (WITHOUT removing any binding that is already there). Finally, take a strip of binding that is long enough to bind the top front and extend behind your neck. Fold it in half and mark the centerpoint. Starting at the centerpoint of the front edge, apply the binding to each side of the front opening. Then stitch the two neck straps at the open edge and put a fastener on the ends--hooks, snaps, velcro, a button/buttonhole--and you're done. Well, except for hemming the bottom to the length you want.
