In india is it okay to wear "western" clothes?

Of course I want to wear sarees and traditional clothing, but I'm wondering if it is okay to dress how I dress here. I've been watching bollywood movies and it seems that they wear belly dance outfits and western clothing (both of which are not entirely modest) in some scenes. Does it depend on the area of India? I guess I'm confused. I thought in India some people would think I'm disrespectful if I didn't wear traditional clothing but I watch bollywood and see some girls are wearing skin tight clothes and showing a lot of skin...
what i'm asking is how come in bollywood movies the girls wear skin tight clothes and show their bellies but on the street it's different?

What u think about bollywood is correct. It is for commercial business to lure the audience pockets with their weaknesses.
But real world in India is not like that, most of the women wear sarries. Which ever religion,cast, region, culture and language woman belongs, she prefers to wear sarry in India. Each and every
Indian is pay respect for the women wearing sarry with procedure and it will increase the dignity of
women.
