How much would you pay for harem pants?
I'm thinking about making them to offer to some belly dancing schools near me but I want to know how much people are willing to pay before I start. I have been seeing them priced anywhere from $35-$95. What would you pay?
Short answer anywhere from $0-$1000+, with an average of $40.
Long answer:
As always it depends on the pants and what you want to get out of them. Really Basic pants (non-fancy 1 material, elastic or drawstring) 20-30 if factory made 20-50 if hand made. I charge between 40-80 for hand made. Nicer pants (patterned material, silk, real velvet, trim, etc) the sky is the limit. I would say starts around 60 --> several hundred+. Sometimes you can get a good deal. Often at belly dance events with vendors you'll find discount bins, these can have FABULOUS stuff in them! And you can always sew your own, or adapt a pair. If you find a loose pair of PJ bottoms (try the mens section at a thrift store) then add elastic at the ankle - done! Wrap pants (found at many 'hippe' stores) also make good cheap harem pants. And never underestimate Halloween superstores and Thrift store Halloween sections - all coming on sale very soon. I don't want to advertise too much here but I do occasionaly make or sell pants feel free to contact me if you wish...
